Strategic Collaboration in the PET/CT Examination Room Project at São João University Hospital Center

The São João University Hospital Center (CHUSJ), renowned for its excellence in healthcare in Portugal, is taking a significant step forward by introducing a PET/CT examination room equipped with the innovative Discovery MI 5R—a Digital Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET/CT) system featuring GE HealthCare technology. In this ambitious project, Sotécnica, together with GE HealthCare, played a crucial role in ensuring the technical and functional implementation of this space.

With solid experience in imaging room solutions such as MRI, CT, X-ray, and Gamma Cameras, Sotécnica was responsible for several components of the project. The work included civil construction with a focus on radiation protection using lead lining, as well as the installation of medical gas networks, climate control systems, electrical installations, and the implementation of automatic doors with radiation shielding.

The collaboration between Sotécnica and GE HealthCare resulted in a modern and efficient medical space. This environment, equipped with the latest technology, not only provides high-resolution medical imaging for accurate diagnoses but also prioritizes the safety and comfort of both patients and professionals, thanks to the integrated technical solutions.
