05 March 2026Oriente Green Campus: Sotécnica contributes to one of Lisbon’s most sustainable buildings
Developed from the conversion of a previously unfinished structure, the project gave rise to a contemporary campus that integrates academic and business spaces, as well as outdoor areas designed to promote people’s well-being.
Oriente Green Campus
With 42,000 m² of indoor space and around 19,000 m² of landscaped outdoor areas, the Oriente Green Campus was designed to meet high international sustainability standards, aiming to achieve certifications such as LEED Platinum and the WELL Building Standard. The campus currently hosts institutions such as Universidade Europeia and IADE – Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication, creating an environment where education, creativity and economic activity coexist within the same space.
Sotécnica contributed to the technical delivery of the project, being responsible for the execution and integration of several key infrastructures essential to the building’s operation, including electrical installations, telecommunications networks, electronic security systems and active fire protection infrastructures.
In the technological and security scope, Sotécnica installed the structured telecommunications network that supports the building’s communications and digital services, as well as approximately 6,500 electronic security devices, ensuring access control, surveillance and people protection.
The company also implemented the active fire protection systems, including a network of around 9,300 sprinklers, pressurized hydraulic systems, fire hose reels, hydrants and Siamese connections, ensuring compliance with demanding international standards.
All these systems are integrated into a Building Management System (BMS), which allows real-time monitoring and optimisation of the building’s performance, contributing to more efficient resource management and high levels of user comfort.
Sotécnica’s participation in this project reflects the company’s commitment to developing Building Solutions that combine engineering, innovation and sustainability, contributing to smarter buildings that are better prepared for the challenges of future cities.
