70 years creating the Energy of the future | Ep. 07 – “Beatriz Ângelo Hospital”

Beatriz Ângelo Hospital is a modern hospital unit located in the city of Loures, part of the National Health Service and from which multiple medical and surgical activities are developed, in different areas of specialization. Inaugurated in 2012, the hospital was built through a political-private partnership system and is operated, to this day, by Luz Saúde.

Intended to address the needs of providing medical and hospital care long identified by the local population, the hospital now serves a universe of around 278,000 users, inhabitants of the municipalities of Loures, Mafra, Odivelas and Sobral de Monte Agraço. In addition to its importance in assisting the local and peripheral population, Hospital Beatriz Ângelo was also relevant in the requalification of the health care offer in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region.

The construction of Beatriz Ângelo Hospital was a project of high dimension and specificity, thanks to the characteristics and technical complexity required for the infrastructure. For this project, Sotécnica participated with its know-how in mechanical installations, ensuring the execution of water and sanitation networks and plants for different purposes within the hospital unit, fire safety networks and, also, the execution of the plant responsible for the acclimatization of the building and the production of sanitary hot water.

Traversing a vast history of projects carried out for clients in the most diverse segments of activity, Beatriz Ângelo Hospital marked Sotécnica’s debut in health sector’s buildings, becoming the first of several hospitals in which Sotécnica would work in the years that followed.
