EDP – Electrical Mobility Solutions

Power distribution infrastructure for electric vehicle loading systems

EDP has been assumed as one of the main players in the implementation of measures that favor electric mobility in Portugal. To allow the continuous increase of the electric car fleet at EDP, a power supply was developed in the company’s head office, in Lisbon, on Avenida 24 de Julho, to respond to pressing situations with higher consumption.

Sotécnica performed the installation of the power infrastructure that allowed to put on the -6 floor (garage) a floor partial switchboard to supply the electric vehicle charging systems (QP-6CVE), from the QGBT, with the respective change in the existing protection equipment for this purpose, as well as the launching of power supply cables according to the needs.

It also included the supply of a 4x22kW electric vehicle charger (QECVE) switchboard implemented in a stainless steel structure, which was studied for this purpose, which allows the fixation of the electrical switchboard and the charging stations and accommodate the connections originating in the QP-6CVE.

Smart Charging creates and distributes the available energy in an efficient and flexible way, avoiding unnecessary costs and making the most out of its charging stations in case of limited power capacity. This type of charging sets all the smart features at a charging station, making it an indispensable resource for multi charging points operators.
